Are you replacing the counters in your Houston kitchen or bath? Our in-house team prepares the cabinets and coordinates every detail for Harris County homes.
Houston is where our shop is, in the 77009 zip code just north of downtown. The city covers an enormous range of neighborhoods, from prewar streets inside the 610 Loop to postwar suburbs and newer infill along the freeways. Our crew works across all of it, so most Houston projects are a short drive from the bench where the cabinets are built.
Houston housing runs from 1920s bungalows and 1950s ranch homes to modern townhomes stacked three stories high. Older houses usually need cabinets scribed to out-of-square walls and trim matched to existing profiles. Townhomes bring narrow kitchens, tall ceilings and stairs, which favor slim storage, full-height uppers and careful planning for delivery up tight stairwells.
The humid climate in Houston affects some countertop materials more than others. Wood tops near sinks need careful finishing on every face, while quartz and granite handle moisture well. We also make sure sink bases are sealed and that undermount sinks are properly supported, since a slow leak under the counter can go unnoticed for months in a humid home.
Every project starts with an in-home measurement in Houston. We build in our Houston shop and the same crew handles installation, so the person you talk to at the estimate is accountable for the result. Learn more about our full countertops & surface work service.
Templating happens as soon as cabinets are set and secured, so there is no gap waiting for someone else's crew. We coordinate sink, faucet and cooktop models in advance so cutouts are right the first time.
Eased, beveled, bullnose and mitered edges, waterfall ends, full-height backsplashes and integrated drainboards are all planned with the cabinet layout so the finished surface looks deliberate from every angle. Nothing is left to chance.
You do not have to manage a separate countertop vendor and cabinet installer who blame each other when something does not fit. We handle the coordination and take responsibility for how the cabinets and tops come together.
We level and shim base cabinets to within a sixteenth of an inch across the run, add solid blocking at seams and sink bases, and install steel supports for overhangs. A flat, rigid base is the best protection against cracked stone.

Houston slab foundations can shift slightly with the expansive clay soils common in the region, which is one more reason we set cabinets carefully level and add solid support at seams. Stone does not tolerate flex, so a rigid base matters. Humidity affects wood tops more than stone, so butcher block near sinks needs a well-maintained finish on all sides, including the underside. Outdoor kitchens and covered patios face heat, UV and moisture, and some quartz products are not rated for outdoor use, so we recommend granite or other suitable materials there. Older homes often have walls that bow, so we template carefully and use backsplashes to cover small gaps.
Houston humidity is the main thing we design around. Solid wood moves with the seasons, so we use furniture-grade plywood for cabinet boxes and shelves, and frame-and-panel doors that let panels float. Sink bases get extra finish protection, and in neighborhoods along bayous or in flood-prone zones we can raise toe kicks or use moisture-resistant materials on the lowest components. Keeping the house conditioned during installation helps everything settle in properly.
As a general planning range, installed countertops in Greater Houston often run about $50 to $120 per square foot for quartz and granite, $40 to $90 for solid surface, and $100 to $200 or more for premium marble and quartzite. A typical kitchen may need 40 to 60 square feet. Pricing varies with materials and site conditions, so get a written estimate.
