Custom Bathroom Vanities in Houston, TX

Bathroom vanities sized to your wall, sealed against moisture, and built from real wood in our Houston shop.

A custom bathroom vanity is one of the hardest-working pieces of cabinetry in a house. It sits beside a shower that fills the room with steam, takes splashes every morning, and hides a trap and supply lines that can drip for weeks before anyone notices. Ace Kustoms builds custom bathroom vanities from furniture-grade plywood and solid hardwood, finishes them in our Houston shop, and installs them with the same crew.

Stock vanities come in 24, 30, 36, 48, 60 and 72-inch widths, which rarely matches the wall between a toilet and a tub. We build to your space, whether that is a 41-inch powder room nook or a 96-inch primary bath wall with two sinks and a center tower. We can also raise the height to a comfortable 34 to 36 inches instead of the old 30 to 32-inch standard.

If the vanity is part of a bigger change with new tile, a shower rebuild or relocated plumbing, see our bathroom remodel service. For a matching linen tower or medicine cabinet wall, we build those in the same species and finish so the whole bathroom reads as one piece of work. Bring photos of tile or fixtures you like to the estimate, and we will lay real wood and finish samples beside them so you can judge the combination in your own bathroom light.

Why choose Ace Kustoms for custom bathroom vanities

Moisture-resistant construction

Plywood boxes resist swelling far better than the particleboard used in most big-box vanities. We seal interiors and the underside, and finish sink-base floors with a durable coat so a small leak does not turn the bottom into mush.

Exact width and height

We size the vanity to your wall, leaving code-friendly clearance to the toilet centerline and room for door swing. Counter height is set to suit you, typically 34 to 36 inches for adults, with a toe-kick tall enough to clear baseboard.

Plumbing-aware interiors

Drawers are notched or U-shaped around the trap so you keep usable storage under the sink. We locate drain and supply stub-outs before building, so we do not end up with a drawer that cannot close over a P-trap.

Real wood finish

Doors and drawer fronts are solid hardwood, and painted vanities use paint-grade maple with a catalyzed finish that stands up to cleaners, hair products and toothpaste far better than thermofoil or wrapped panels.

Matched storage pieces

We can build linen towers, recessed medicine cabinet surrounds, or a makeup area at seated height in the same wood and finish, so the bathroom looks planned rather than pieced together from different stores.

Built and installed locally

Every vanity is built in our Houston shop and installed by our in-house crew, who level it on your slab, anchor it to studs, and coordinate the top and sink placement with your plumber or ours.

Styles, materials and options

Floating vanities

Wall-hung vanities mount to blocking inside the wall and leave the floor open below, which makes small baths feel larger and simplifies mopping. Typical depth is 18 to 21 inches, and we often add under-cabinet LED lighting for a night light.

Furniture-style vanities

Legs, a recessed base and furniture-style moldings give a vanity the look of a freestanding chest. These suit traditional homes and powder rooms, and we build them in walnut, cherry or painted maple with turned or tapered legs.

Double-sink vanities

Two sinks need at least 60 inches of width, and 72 inches gives each person real elbow room. We often add a center drawer tower or tall storage between sinks so each side gets private drawer space.

Vessel and undermount sinks

Vessel sinks sit on top, so we lower the cabinet to keep the rim at a comfortable height. Undermount and integrated solid-surface sinks keep a clean counter edge. We set cabinet height after you choose the sink.

Wood species and finish

White oak and walnut look warm against tile and resist moisture well under a sealed finish. Painted maple in white, gray or navy is popular. We show finished samples next to your tile choice so the colors work together.

Hardware and drawer layout

Choices include full-extension soft-close slides, hair-tool drawers with a vented outlet, divided drawers for makeup, and tip-out trays at the sink front. Pulls can be brass, black, nickel or edge-grip for a seamless look.

Our process

  1. Measure and plumbing check. We measure the wall, check plumbing locations, look at outlets and mirror placement, and note floor and wall conditions. If the drain needs to move for a wider vanity, we flag that before design starts.
  2. Design and material samples. You choose size, layout, wood species, finish, sink type and hardware with real samples. We confirm the counter material and sink model so the cabinet is sized for its cutout and weight.
  3. Shop build and finishing. We build the box, doors and drawers in our shop and spray the finish in a controlled booth, sealing all surfaces including the back and underside for moisture protection.
  4. Installation. Our crew removes the old vanity if needed, adds wall blocking for floating units, levels and anchors the cabinet, and prepares it for the top. We coordinate countertop install and plumbing reconnection.
  5. Walkthrough and adjustment. After the top and faucet go in, we adjust doors and drawers, check for leaks under the sink, and walk you through finish care and any final punch list items.

What affects the cost

  • Width and the number of sinks set the base size of the vanity.
  • Floating vanities need wall blocking, which may mean opening drywall or tile.
  • Hardwood species and stained versus painted finish affect material and labor cost.
  • Drawer count and specialty inserts add more cost than doors and shelves.
  • Countertop material and sink type are usually priced separately and can change cabinet height and construction.

As a general planning range, a custom single-sink vanity in Greater Houston often starts around $1,800 to $3,500 installed for the cabinet, while a 72-inch double vanity with drawers may run roughly $4,000 to $8,500 before countertop and plumbing. Final cost depends on size, materials and site conditions, so please get a written estimate after an in-home measure.

Built for Houston conditions

Bathrooms in Houston see moisture from both directions: steam from inside and humid air from outside, especially in homes where the AC cycles less during mild months. That is why we build vanities from plywood, seal every surface and leave a small gap at the floor so mopping water does not wick into the base. Many older slab homes have drains coming up through the floor rather than the wall, which limits drawer layouts, so we plan around them. In coastal areas, we choose hinges and slides with better corrosion resistance. We also recommend an exhaust fan that vents outdoors, since no finish will survive a bathroom that stays damp for hours.

Custom Bathroom Vanities FAQs

What is the standard height for a bathroom vanity?
Older vanities were often 30 to 32 inches tall. Most homeowners now prefer comfort height, around 34 to 36 inches to the counter surface, which matches kitchen height and reduces bending. For vessel sinks we lower the cabinet so the rim lands at a comfortable level. We set height based on your preference and sink choice.
Can a floating vanity hold a stone top?
Yes, when it is mounted correctly. We add solid wood blocking between studs behind the vanity and fasten the cabinet through its back rail into that blocking. A 60-inch quartz top can weigh well over 100 pounds, so the blocking matters more than the cabinet itself. Retrofit may require opening drywall.
Will a wood vanity survive bathroom humidity?
A properly built and sealed one will. We use plywood boxes, solid wood doors with floating panels, and a catalyzed finish on all sides. The bigger risk is standing water, so wipe spills and fix drips promptly. A working exhaust fan also helps the vanity and the rest of the room.
Can you build a vanity around existing plumbing?
Usually, yes. We measure drain and supply positions and design drawers with cutouts or U-shapes around the trap. If you want a wider vanity or a second sink, a plumber may need to move or add a drain, which we identify during the estimate.
Do you supply the countertop and sink?
We can coordinate countertops, including solid surface tops with integrated sinks, or work with a stone fabricator you already like. Either way, we size the cabinet to the chosen sink and confirm the template so the top sits flat and the faucet holes line up.
How long does a custom vanity take?
Most vanities take about three to six weeks from approved design to installation, depending on finish and our shop schedule. Installation of the cabinet itself is usually a day, followed by countertop and plumbing reconnection. Call (281) 660-3903 to schedule your free estimate.
