Custom cabinets, vanities, built-ins, trim and remodels for homeowners in 23 Harris County communities.
Harris County is home base for Ace Kustoms. Our shop sits in the 77009 zip code just north of downtown Houston, so most Harris County jobs are a short drive for the crew that builds your cabinets. That matters when a site visit, a final fitting or a punch-list item needs attention. We design, build and install custom cabinets, trim and built-ins from inside the Loop out to Cypress, Spring, Humble, Baytown and the Bay Area.
The work here is as varied as the housing. In older neighborhoods like the Heights, Bellaire and the Memorial Villages, we often replace worn kitchens in homes built between the 1920s and 1970s, where walls are rarely square and every cabinet run gets scribed to fit. In the master-planned suburbs north and west of town, the typical request is replacing builder-grade boxes with solid wood, adding a pantry wall or finishing a game room with a media built-in.
Every Harris County project follows the same process. We start with an in-home consultation and measure, then bring real door styles, wood species and finish samples to your house so you can judge them in your own light. Everything is built in our Houston shop from hardwoods and furniture-grade plywood, and the same crew comes back to install it. No subcontracted install crews, no particleboard boxes, and a final walkthrough with you before we call the job done.
Harris County housing spans more than a century. Inside the Loop you find 1920s bungalows, prewar cottages and the postwar ranch homes of the 1950s through 1970s, many on pier-and-beam or early slab foundations that have moved over the decades. Ceilings are often 8 feet and walls out of plumb, so cabinets need scribe strips and filler panels planned from the start. Outside the Beltway, most homes date from the 1980s onward and sit on slab in large subdivisions. Those houses tend to have taller ceilings and open plans but builder-grade cabinets, thin trim and wire closet shelving, which makes them strong candidates for full-height uppers, crown upgrades and closet systems.
Houston humidity is the main thing we design around. Solid wood moves with the seasons, so we use furniture-grade plywood for cabinet boxes and shelves, and frame-and-panel doors that let panels float. Sink bases get extra finish protection, and in neighborhoods along bayous or in flood-prone zones we can raise toe kicks or use moisture-resistant materials on the lowest components. Keeping the house conditioned during installation helps everything settle in properly.
Baytown sits on the east side of Harris County where the Houston Ship Channel meets Galveston Bay, with a small portion extending into Chambers County. The city grew around the refining and petrochemical industry and is linked to La Porte by the Fred Hartman Bridge. I-10 runs along its northern side.
Bellaire is a small city fully surrounded by Houston, southwest of the 610 Loop near the Galleria and Meyerland. It has its own city government and building rules, quiet residential streets and easy access to the Texas Medical Center. We work here regularly on both original homes and newer rebuilds.
Bunker Hill Village is one of the Memorial Villages, a group of small, mostly residential cities west of Houston between I-10 and Memorial Drive. It has no commercial strips to speak of, just wooded lots and quiet streets. Its location near the Katy Freeway and Beltway 8 keeps it close to the Energy Corridor and Memorial City.
Cypress is a large unincorporated area in northwest Harris County along US 290, extending to the Grand Parkway and beyond. It has grown from farm country into one of the region's busiest suburban areas. Cypress Creek runs through it, and Jersey Village and Tomball border it.
Deer Park is a suburb east of Pasadena along SH 225, close to the Houston Ship Channel and the San Jacinto Battleground. Many families have roots here going back generations, and the city has a settled, neighborly character. It is about a half-hour drive from our shop.
Hedwig Village is the Memorial Village closest to the Katy Freeway, with a small band of shops and offices along I-10 and residential streets to the south. It sits east of Bunker Hill and Piney Point and is a short drive from Memorial City. The village has its own rules for contractors, which we plan around.
Houston is where our shop is, in the 77009 zip code just north of downtown. The city covers an enormous range of neighborhoods, from prewar streets inside the 610 Loop to postwar suburbs and newer infill along the freeways. Our crew works across all of it, so most Houston projects are a short drive from the bench where the cabinets are built.
The Heights sits just northwest of downtown, a few minutes from our 77009 shop. It is one of Houston's oldest planned neighborhoods, known for tree-lined streets, a boulevard esplanade with a hike-and-bike trail, and a mix of restored cottages and new construction on narrow lots.
Humble is northeast of Houston along US 59, near Bush Intercontinental Airport and Lake Houston. The original town grew around an early oil field, and the surrounding area now includes large planned communities such as Atascocita and Kingwood. The San Jacinto River and its creeks run nearby.
Jersey Village is a small city in northwest Harris County, just inside Beltway 8 along US 290. It is known for its established neighborhoods, its golf course and White Oak Bayou running through town. It is surrounded by Houston and close to the Cypress area farther northwest.
La Porte sits on the western shore of Galveston Bay, south of the Ship Channel and across from Baytown via the Fred Hartman Bridge. It is home to Sylvan Beach Park and the San Jacinto Battleground, and SH 146 runs through town toward Seabrook and Kemah. The bay shapes daily life and housing here.
The Memorial area runs west from Memorial Park along Memorial Drive and the I-10 corridor toward the Beltway. It surrounds the Memorial Villages and is known for wooded lots, winding streets and quick access to the Galleria and Energy Corridor. Our crew reaches it easily from our shop north of downtown.
Nassau Bay is a small city on the shore of Clear Lake, directly across NASA Parkway from Johnson Space Center. Much of it is surrounded by water, with canal-front and lakefront lots. It sits between Webster and Seabrook in the heart of the Clear Lake area.
Pasadena is one of the larger cities in Harris County, southeast of Houston along SH 225 and the Ship Channel. Its southern side reaches toward Clear Lake and Armand Bayou. It has a strong working-family character and a wide range of neighborhoods built over many decades.
Piney Point Village is the southernmost of the Memorial Villages, sitting between Memorial Drive and San Felipe near Beltway 8. It is almost entirely residential, with large wooded lots and few through streets. Its location puts it close to the Galleria, Memorial City and the Energy Corridor.
River Oaks lies between downtown and Uptown, south of Buffalo Bayou and north of Westheimer. It is one of Houston's best-known residential neighborhoods, with large lots, mature live oaks and stately homes in a range of traditional styles. Projects here tend to be detailed, and owners expect cabinetry and trim that match the architecture.
Seabrook is a bayside city on SH 146 between La Porte and Kemah, at the mouth of Clear Lake. It has a strong boating culture, waterfront restaurants and marinas. Its location ties it closely to the Clear Lake and NASA area as well as the Galveston Bay shoreline.
Spring is a large unincorporated area in north Harris County along I-45, just south of The Woodlands and Spring Creek. Its historic center, Old Town Spring, has shops in older buildings, while the area around it is made up of many subdivisions. The Hardy Toll Road and the Grand Parkway cross the area.
The Spring–Klein area covers the unincorporated suburbs of north Harris County between I-45 and SH 249, largely within the Klein school district. It sits between Houston and The Woodlands, with Spring Creek forming much of its northern edge. Neighborhoods here are mature and family oriented.
Tomball is a small city in northwest Harris County at the junction of SH 249 and FM 2920. It began as a railroad town and keeps a historic downtown, surrounded by suburbs and country properties that reach toward Magnolia and Montgomery County. The Tomball Parkway gives it a quick route to Houston.
Towne Lake is a master-planned community in Cypress, built around a large man-made lake west of Barker Cypress Road and north of US 290. Many homes back onto the water or its canals, and boating is part of the neighborhood's identity. It is a newer community compared with much of the Cypress area.
Webster sits along I-45 in the Clear Lake area, between Houston's Clear Lake neighborhoods and League City. It is a busy commercial hub with hospitals, retail along the freeway and easy access to NASA Parkway. Residential areas are tucked behind the commercial corridors, close to the water.
West University Place, usually called West U, is a small city next to Rice University, bordered by Houston on most sides. Its compact grid of residential streets sits close to the Texas Medical Center and Rice Village. Lots are modest in size, so homes make careful use of every room.
