Custom TV accent wall cabinets give Spring–Klein living rooms a clean, finished focal point. Ace Kustoms builds them for homes across Harris County.
The Spring–Klein area covers the unincorporated suburbs of north Harris County between I-45 and SH 249, largely within the Klein school district. It sits between Houston and The Woodlands, with Spring Creek forming much of its northern edge. Neighborhoods here are mature and family oriented.
Homes in Spring–Klein mostly date from the 1970s through the 2000s, two-story brick houses on slab with traditional layouts. Original oak or builder cabinets, laminate counters and wire closet shelving are common. Owners often update kitchens, add homework stations or drop zones near the garage and replace dated vanities in secondary baths.
Newer homes in Spring–Klein frequently have tall, open living rooms with a blank wall where the builder expected a TV. Homeowners ask us to add slats, paneling and a floating console so the wall feels intentional and finished. Building the wall early lets us plan wiring and blocking before furniture and decor are in place. Tall walls can carry slats to the ceiling.
Every project starts with an in-home measurement in Spring–Klein. We build in our Houston shop and the same crew handles installation, so the person you talk to at the estimate is accountable for the result. Learn more about our full custom tv accent wall cabinets service.
Wood slats, paneling or a contrasting finish behind the TV give the room a strong center. When the screen is off, the wall still looks finished rather than leaving a black rectangle on blank drywall.
In-wall power and cable kits, conduit to the console and grommets in the cabinet keep cords out of sight. No cord covers or dangling wires between the TV and the media equipment.
We add solid blocking behind slats or panels for the TV mount, so it is anchored to framing rather than relying on drywall or thin panels. Large, heavy TVs stay secure and level.
Floating consoles and low cabinets include vented backs, slotted panels or cutouts for airflow, keeping cable boxes, streaming devices and game consoles cool even when doors are closed. Rear access panels help with rewiring.

Many Houston living rooms have large windows that create glare on TVs, so we consider window placement and sun angles when choosing TV height and wall location. Exterior walls see temperature and humidity swings, so we seal all wood surfaces and leave a small air gap where needed. In older 1950s to 1970s homes with plaster walls or limited outlets, running in-wall power and low-voltage cables may take more planning. On slab foundations, floor outlets are difficult to add, so we route power through walls. Equipment ventilation matters in warm rooms during long Houston summers.
Houston humidity is the main thing we design around. Solid wood moves with the seasons, so we use furniture-grade plywood for cabinet boxes and shelves, and frame-and-panel doors that let panels float. Sink bases get extra finish protection, and in neighborhoods along bayous or in flood-prone zones we can raise toe kicks or use moisture-resistant materials on the lowest components. Keeping the house conditioned during installation helps everything settle in properly.
For general planning, a TV accent wall with slats or paneling and a floating console in Greater Houston often runs around $4,000 to $10,000, while larger walls with full-width cabinets, side shelves and lighting can range from $12,000 to $25,000 or more. TV and electronics are not included. These are planning ranges, so ask for a written estimate.
