Harris County · Trim, Doors & Stairs
Across Harris County, homeowners ask us for taller baseboards, fuller crown and accent walls. In Tomball, our crew mills, fits and finishes every piece.
Tomball is a small city in northwest Harris County at the junction of SH 249 and FM 2920. It began as a railroad town and keeps a historic downtown, surrounded by suburbs and country properties that reach toward Magnolia and Montgomery County. The Tomball Parkway gives it a quick route to Houston.
Tomball has older homes near downtown, suburban subdivisions and many properties on acreage just outside town. Country homes often call for farmhouse-style kitchens, mudroom storage and heavy-duty garage or shop cabinets. Older in-town homes need kitchen remodels and trim updates, while newer subdivisions ask for builder-grade replacements.
Custom trim adds visible quality that buyers notice when touring Tomball homes. Crown molding, wainscoting and coffered ceilings photograph well and suggest a carefully finished house. If you are preparing to sell, we help you focus on main living spaces and entries, where trim upgrades make the strongest impression for the investment. Simple, classic profiles tend to have the broadest appeal and rarely look dated.
Every project starts with an in-home measurement in Tomball. We build in our Houston shop and the same crew handles installation, so the person you talk to at the estimate is accountable for the result. Learn more about our full custom trim & millwork installation service.
We can match existing profiles in older homes, either from stock or by milling a custom profile in our shop. That lets you repair or extend original trim without a visible change from room to room.
Walls and floors are rarely flat. We scribe baseboard to floors and crown to ceilings, and use backer blocks or flexible profiles where needed so the finished trim follows the room cleanly with minimal caulk.
Nail holes are filled, joints are caulked with flexible paintable sealant and surfaces are sanded and primed as needed. Trim is left ready for paint, or we coordinate painting so the room is completely finished.
Our own crew handles custom millwork from shop to installation. Beams, coffers and wainscot panels are built in our Houston shop, then installed and fitted by the same carpenters who made them.

Houston's humidity makes wood trim swell and shrink through the year, which is why poorly installed miters open up after the first summer. We cope inside joints, glue outside miters and use flexible sealants that move with the wood. Paint-grade MDF is stable in dry rooms but should be avoided in bathrooms, laundry rooms and near exterior doors, where we use poplar, finger-jointed pine or PVC trim. Slab floors in older homes are often uneven, so we scribe baseboard rather than relying on shoe molding alone. Exterior walls in older ranch homes may be out of plumb, which affects crown fit, so we use flexible blocking and careful scribing.
Houston humidity is the main thing we design around. Solid wood moves with the seasons, so we use furniture-grade plywood for cabinet boxes and shelves, and frame-and-panel doors that let panels float. Sink bases get extra finish protection, and in neighborhoods along bayous or in flood-prone zones we can raise toe kicks or use moisture-resistant materials on the lowest components. Keeping the house conditioned during installation helps everything settle in properly.
As a general planning range, installed crown molding in Greater Houston often runs about $8 to $25 per linear foot, baseboard about $5 to $15 per linear foot, and wainscoting or board and batten roughly $25 to $60 per linear foot of wall. Coffered ceilings and beams are priced per project. Get a written estimate based on your rooms and materials.
